Sharon Anegg studied classical voice and became enthusiastic about jazz singing in 1995. She studied jazz singing with Leila Thigpen in Vienna and attended workshops with Lori Williams, Carol Alston, Ines Reiger, Elisabeth Lohninger and Kevin Mahogany.
From 1997, she played mainly songs from the “Great American Songbook” with her quintet.
From 2000 she interpreted exclusively songs by the French composer Michel Legrand with Heimo Trixner/guit, arr. and Oliver Steger /b in the program “Legrand – Off The Beaten Track” and released the CD of the same name in 2001.
She founded the label cracked anegg records, which – together with Oliver Steger as A & R – has regularly released albums in the field of jazz and world music since 2003. Her work with the label led to her reducing her appearances and eventually stopping them completely.
Sharon Anegg has been active as a singer again for several years.
